If you belong to multiple nations and races, where do you actually belong? Nadia gives a great insight into the questions of identity, particularly at the time, when national identity is becoming an important aspect of an individual identity. The yearning for an absent biological mother, an estranged relationship with a loving & responsible step mother and disillusionment of a father figure - the book delves into these numerous relationships that shape our identity.
I enjoyed the very different style of writing, taking a reader deeper into memories and bringing her back to the surface alternatively.
