The mystery surrounding Subhashchandra Bose has always attracted me. The conspiracy theories abound about his disappearance in a plane crash and then mysterious reappearance as Gumnami Baba has fascinated so many like me. So when I received a recommendation to read Shreyas Bhave's Prisoner of Yakutsk: The Subhashchandra Bose Mystery Final Chapter, I was intrigued. I like historical fiction as a genre and so I immediately ordered a copy.

The book is a fictionalized account of Jay, who sets out to uncover the truth about Sibhashchandra Bose and encounters numerous hurdles, which seem to ensure that the mystery around Bose's death remains intact. The entire story, though a fiction, is completely based on accounts and records that are available to the general public that relate to Bose's mysterious disappearance. Its an amazing account into a possibility of if Bose has survised the plane crash, where was he till he died many years later?
